Indoor & Outdoor Spa Retreats and Swimming Pool Builds

The first of a new generation…

The Client: Europe’s leading health and wellness group.

The Brief

Our valued and long-term client has continually innovated and invested in new clubs enhancing its members’ experience and putting sustainability at the heart of everything it does to make a positive impact on the environment.

This leisure centre build in Oxfordshire was to be the first of its new clubs to incorporate more green technology and a broader range of facilities. Topline Pools and Wellness was asked to support this state-of-the-art facility with the build of luxury indoor & outdoor spa retreats and 20m indoor and 25m outdoor heated swimming pools.

What We Did

Before being awarded the design and build of the swimming pools, Topline had worked on a similar project in Germany. With the experience of having to meet the German DIN design and test standards, it was decided the pools for the new leisure centre would use the internationally recognised German standards – the highest level of sanitation for pool water in the world – as the basis for their design. The pools were also built to exceed the minimum UK standards with a superior level of finish to the shells.

The Topline-built indoor & outdoor spa retreats feature a hydrotherapy pool, salt sauna, crystal steam room, ice experience room, plunge pool, experience showers and heated loungers in the internal spa, while the external spa garden features a hydro pool, sauna and showers.

The Results

The state-of-the art facility has received excellent feedback from its members enjoying the benefits of the luxurious health suites and pools.

It’s not only ensured that its members have the best-quality environment to achieve their health, fitness, and leisure time goals but has reduced the club’s capital and operational costs, improved energy efficiency and reduced carbon emissions, with none of the normal problems that can be associated with this type of facility.

Each amenity, while providing a contemporary look, was designed to be maintainable and built to a very high commercial standard, capable of withstanding the high traffic and heavy usage. Each was fitted with our both own brand and other established brands’ high quality energy conservation solutions (energy-saving sauna controllers, chemical dosing systems, cylinder steam generators, LED underwater pool lights), and fitted with controls and fire suppression systems that meet Zurich Insurance standards.

And Topline were rewarded with the ‘Health & Wellness Commercial Project of the year’ accolade in the 2023 UK Pool & Spa Awards for the build.
