Hydrotherapy Pool Construction Specialists

We have a thorough understanding of the considerations and complexities involved in the build of a hydrotherapy pool. We understand that each pool has unique requirements that need to be factored into the design and installation process. Our team of designers and installers will discuss your requirements to meet the requirements of the user, designing and building the perfect space for your needs.

We work alongside architects, medical professionals and spa/hotel owners and operators to provide insight into the technical aspects of building a hydro pool, ensuring that it’s not only built to the most current codes and standards and perfectly meets your needs, but that it looks great as well.

What is a Hydrotherapy Pool?

A Hydrotherapy Pool is a warm water pool principally intended for aquatic physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation. Shallower and warmer than a swimming pool, at a temperature of around 33°C to 36°C (91°F – 97°F), water temperature, pressure and movement can all be altered to provide a controlled and safe environment for therapeutic exercises.

The benefits of hydrotherapy and the healing properties of water are well recognised and hydrotherapy pools can now be found at the heart of many wellness-focused hotels, spas, leisure centres and sport clubs bringing the incredible restorative powers of warm, moving water to everyone. The combination of warm water, built-in massaging jets and other water features work to relax and soothe aching muscles and ease joint pain, making them a great option for anyone recovering from a workout or sports session.

Hydrotherapy Pool Design & Installation Recommendations

When designing and building a hydrotherapy pool, it requires specialist knowledge and equipment and needs to be tailored to the specific needs of the user and how they will benefit from the pool.

Consideration needs to be given to pool entry and exit, pool depth, pool fixtures, pool materials and finishes, features such as massage jets, loungers and underwater exercise equipment as well as sensory aspects, lighting, sounds, textures, heating and strength of jets.

A hydrotherapy pool can be installed above ground, in-ground, or partially in-ground. They can either be deck-level (also known as an overflow pool) where the pool water is level with the surround, or a skimmer pool (sometimes referred to as a freeboard pool where the surround is higher than the water level.

In this respect deck level pool surrounds are often preferred due to their surface water drainage system and the safest for emergency evacuation procedures.

Just like a swimming pool, a hydrotherapy pool needs a plant room and considerations such as filtration, recirculation and water chemistry controllers are vital.

Ensuring adequate room ventilation and installing environment control systems to control condensation, pool room air quality, temperature and humidity is also a critical area to get right.

Our team has detailed knowledge of hydrotherapy pool equipment which enables us to create a truly bespoke experience for the user.

Whatever your hydrotherapy pool project encompasses, we can discuss your needs and requirements, offering practical advice from the start and ensuring every suitable and important feature is considered.
